Reuse and Recycling Centre Booking System

From 6 June 2022 Bristol residents will need to book to visit the Household Reuse and Recycling Centres. The system will improve efficiency and better manage queues at the sites.

How the booking system will work

The booking system opened on 23 May 2022 and you can book up to two weeks in advance, or as little as one hour before your visit.

Residents can book online quickly and easily at www.bristol.gov.uk/bookrecycling. Those without access to the internet can call 0117 922 2100 Monday – Friday. Lines will be open between 08:30 – 18:00 and closed 12:00 – 13:30 on Wednesdays.

The booking system replaces the odd and even numberplate system, opening up access to all residents, every day. The odd and even numberplate system will remain in place until 5 June 2022.

If you are visiting the recycling centres on foot or by bike you do not need to book.

Booking is quick, simple and removes the need to queue on site.

Councillor Kye Dudd said:

“The new booking system will help manage the heavy demand on the city’s Household Reuse and Recycling Centres. It will reduce queues, drive down emissions from queuing vehicles and ensure a smoother on-site experience for our residents.

“Making access to the site easier and reducing traffic pollution will help us achieve our environmental objectives and increase recycling rates. Remember you don’t have to book if you arrive on foot or by bike.

“We have seen the system work really well in local authorities across the county, as well as neighbouring areas such as including Bath and North East Somerset and Gloucestershire and Swindon.”
