A big achievement from little litter pickers!

The first children in Bristol to complete the Big Tidy’s Little Big Tidiers scheme proved that you don’t have to be a grown up to make a difference in your city.

Seth, 7, and Josh, 4, spent their summer litter picking around their local areas of Brislington and Whitchurch, assisted by their mum Sarah. They collected twelve bags from parks, along roads and near big supermarkets, making sure to separate out any recyclable litter.

Seth’s favourite part of litter picking was getting a treat for all their hard work after the litter pick. The Big Tidy team presented the boys with their very own mini litter pickers and hi-vis vests in their local park which they have cleaned up in the summer. They can now continue litter picking and helping bring the sparkle back to Bristol!

Over 60 children from all over Bristol are already signed up for the scheme. When they register, children are asked to complete six litter picks, either with their parents in their area, or during a Little Big Tidiers litter pick which the Big Tidy team holds during half term and summer holidays.
