Annual campaign offers targeted support to students on the move
Bristol Waste helps students on the move
School’s out for summer! We’re working with Bristol City Council, the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England to support students moving out in Bristol this summer.
This summer, students will find extra bins on the street during move-out time, easier access to the recycling centres, plus discounts on bin hire and bucket-hatfuls of information about correct waste disposal in Bristol. Find it all on the Students On The Move campaign page.
Students
Moving out of your student house? Find everything you need to start summer with a smile on the Students On The Move campaign page.
No one wants to be the last person left in the house, tidying up after everyone else and discovering the bins are already full. Not ideal when your deposit is at stake!
Get a head start this year with our 4-step moving out guide (Sell it, Recycle It, Donate it, Bin it), easy access to the recycling centres and discounts on a really big bin to share with your housemates. On top of all that, there will also be extra bins on the streets this summer, along with the British Heart Foundation charity donation bins for all your used stuff that still works. Ideal!
Permanent residents
Do you talk to your student neighbours when they move in or out? If you’re looking for information to pass along, you’ve come to the right place. Scroll down to the bottom of the Students On The Move campaign page to find downloadable flyers packed full of information about the campaign, how to sort recycling in Bristol and what to do with bulky waste.
Our community engagement team and student liaison officers from both universities regularly attend meetings to discuss waste issues in Bristol. If you would like to invite them to your next meeting, please email hello@bristolwastecompany.co.uk
Landlords
Do you have student tenants? Please support the campaign and help keep Bristol clean and tidy this summer! The Students On The Move leaflet is packed full of information. Email the leaflet to your tenants and help them sort out for summer.
Campaign partners
Students On The Move is delivered in partnership by Bristol Waste, Bristol City Council, the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England. We’re working together to help Bristol students move out after the summer exams with minimal stress and mess.
Spotted something messy?
Remember, you can report streets issues such as litter, fly-tip and overflowing bins on the Bristol Council website. Reports help keep the streets clean and tidy but sharing photos of fly-tipping online can encourage copy-cat behaviour.
