Is your child keen to keep Bristol clean and green?

Join the Little Big Tidiers!

Our brand new Little Big Tidiers scheme encourages children to have a go at litter picking in their local area.

By borrowing a litter picking kit, everyone can do their bit to bring the sparkle back to Bristol. It’s an easy way to get your children out and about in the fresh air and feel good about helping the community!

The Big Tidy team will provide you with a Little Big Tidiers loyalty card, where you can record your six picks. Complete the picks and your child will receive their very own mini Little Big Tidiers hi-vis and litter picker. They’ll even get some extra special gifts for all their hard work.

If you’re not sure how to get started with litter picking? Simply visit the litter picking webpage for all our handy top tips. You can also find a map of Bristol showing existing litter picking groups which you can join.

It’s a great thing for children to get involved in. Fresh air, exercise and a feel-good feeling for doing something that benefits the community. What could be better!

Our Big Tidy team visited Blaise Castle Estate and the Ardagh Community Trust to promote the benefits of litter picking and launch our Little Big Tidiers scheme. We talked to the passers-by to find out what people thought and encouraged them to get involved.

The Ardagh team also organised an extra litter pick to help the Little Big Tidiers get started with their loyalty cards. The mini pickers collected a fantastic 7 bags of waste from around Horfield Common. an outstanding effort from our first Little Big Tidiers!

Keep an eye on the Bristol Waste social media to find out about upcoming litter picks.

If your child has an interest in litter picking and wants to get involved, register them now. We’ll be in touch as soon as possible.
