#InTheLoop

Bright, eye-catching bins, which feature the otters who have made Bristol Harbour their home, are now situated around the harbourside.

Bristol's otter-ly great at recycling on-the-go

As England’s number one core city for recycling, Bristol has already proven we’re otter-ly great at recycling at home. Now, with our brand new public bins around the harbour, everybody can recycle on-the-go too!

The brightly coloured #InTheLoop bins make up a trail around the harbourside. As well as new rubbish bins, there are now yellow bins to recycle empty plastic and cans and teal bins to recycle glass bottles.

Helping Bristol waste nothing

Keeping the city clean and encouraging better recycling is at the heart of what we do at Bristol Waste. Funding from environmental charity Hubbub and Coca-Cola’s InTheLoop Grand Fund has allowed us to bring on-the-go recycling right into the beating heart of Bristol.

The harbourside is home to many wonderful attractions, businesses, homes and even otters! It’s no wonder it’s popular, but with people on the streets comes litter.

The on-street recycling bins will change how people can manage their waste when they are out of the home, helping recycle more items and keeping valuable materials In The Loop.

Bristol, you're otter-ly brilliant!

Having bins placed around Bristol waterways makes it easy to keep litter ‘otter’ the river. The In The Loop Bins will help the city be more sustainable and protect wildlife too.

Our on-the-go bins will allow plastic and glass bottles and empty drinks cans to be kept #InTheLoop by recycling the materials. It’s an important step towards making Bristol a more sustainable city.

The new recycling bins make up a trail leading from Castle Park, through the centre of the city and along the waterfront.

People sailing out on the Sea-Cycler to pick litter out of the harbour water

Thanks to our partners

To celebrate the launch of central Bristol’s first ever permanent on-the-go recycling bins we were joined by some brilliant organisations. Thanks to Sea Cadets: For TS Adventure and Sustainable Hive who helped us create our amazing litter-picking flotilla for the day of the launch.

Thank you again to environmental charity Hubbub and Coca-Cola’s InTheLoop Grand Fund for making this possible, and to Bristol Avon Rivers Trust, the Harbourmaster and the Bristol City Council and Bristol Waste teams who supported the launch.
