Charity work through reuse

Reuse is powered by charity, through the donations we receive to the charitable donations we give.

Our Reuse Shops give back through two main avenues: donating items and money to our charity partners and through our Digital Inclusion Scheme.

Since we opened the first Reuse Shop in 2020, we’ve now managed to save over 350,000 items from being wasted and raised over £40,000 for our charity partners.

For every penny you spend or every item you donate, approximately 25% of the proceeds go to charity.

What happens to the money raised?

Most of the money raised from selling the items goes back into running reuse and other services at Bristol Waste Company.

However, the aim has always been to raise money to support local charities, with 25% of the profits going to charity.

So whether you’re buying or donating items you’re helping Bristol waste nothing and support important charities, including St Peter’s Hospice.

Digital Inclusion Scheme

Our Digital Inclusion Scheme donates free computers, laptops and mobile phones to schools, charities, and marginalised communities.

IT devices and equipment can be donated via the drop-off points at our household reuse and recycling centres and through our IT asset disposal service.
