Reuse at Bristol Waste

At Bristol Waste, reuse has been a key part of our vision since our founding.

With your help, we have an opportunity to divert good-condition, clean and fit-for-purpose items from the waste stream and get them into the hands of people who can use them.

When you visit any of our household reuse and recycling centres you will find a reuse donation container where you can drop off items, as well as a reuse shop where you can purchase second-hand goods.

In 2023 alone across our 3 Reuse Shops we diverted over 50,000 unwanted items into reuse – through our shop customers and donations to our charity partners – keeping resources in use for longer.

What happens to the money raised?

Most of the money raised from selling the items goes back into running reuse at Bristol Waste Company.

However, the aim has always been to raise money to support local charities and a quarter of the reuse profits goes to charity. So whether you’re buying or donating items you’re helping Bristol waste nothing and support important charitable work including St Peter’s Hospice.
