Trailer loan agreement     

 I agree to the following: 
 
 1. Trailers and all accessories must be returned in the same condition that they were received, apart from normal wear and tear. A charge will be made for damage or non-return.   
 
 2. If a trailer is lost, stolen or damaged, or involved in an accident, Bristol Waste Company must be notified as soon as possible on telephone or email. 
 
 3. Trailers and accessories are supplied in a safe condition, and Bristol Waste Company will not accept liability for loss, damage or injury to you or third parties arising from their use. Should they be lost/damaged you will incur a charge. 
 
 4. You must ride in accordance with road traffic law and with care and courtesy. Do not race, perform stunts, jumps, wheelies, skids or other dangerous activities whilst the trailer is attached to your bike. 
 
 5. Lock up the trailer whenever it is left unattended.  The lock should go through the frame and a fixed object e.g. cycle rack, bench, lamppost. It is your responsibility to lock up the trailer. 
 
 6. Always check the trailer before you use it to ensure it is properly attached to the bike and safe to cycle. 
 
 7. You must ensure that the trailer is loaded safely:  
- Ensure that the maximum weight of 40kg is not exceeded. 
- Load items evenly to ensure there is an even distribution of weight. 
- Check that all materials are secured and are not at risk of falling in transit. 
- Check that loading of materials will not interfere with the mechanics of the bike and affect cycling safety. 
 
 8. We advise that you take out insurance for theft, third party, accidental damage and personal injury.  It may be that your household insurance already covers these. You are advised to check and make relevant arrangements. 
 
 9. A deposit of £30 is required. This will be refunded when the trailer is returned in good condition.  Card or cash are accepted.

10.User Declaration

I agree to the following:

1. I consider myself to be competent to cycle with a trailer.

2. I do not have any physical conditions or disabilities that would make cycling a potentially risky activity.

3. I understand the risks involved with cycling and will not hold Bristol Waste Company responsible for any injuries or collisions whilst using the trailer provided.

4. I will safety check the bicycle and trailer before each use, and report any faults or missing items immediately. If there are any faults with the trailer I will not use it, or attempt to fix the fault.

5. I have read the information above and I understand my responsibilities when using/storing the trailer, and will always lock the trailer correctly.

6. I understand that it is a condition of use that I am responsible for the trailer and its accessories and may be held liable for any loss.

7. I will use the trailer responsibly.
