Tony Lawless Bristol Waste Company Managing Director

Tony Lawless: Managing Director

Tony is responsible for the whole business and reporting back to the shareholder, Bristol City Council. With over 25 years of experience as a Senior Manager within operations and facilities management, Tony is a hands-on operator and people manager. He has a strategic overview and a passion for quality and safety. His ambition is to make Bristol Waste a leading force in the waste and recycling industry, delivering the best possible service to the residents and businesses of Bristol.


Adam Henshaw: Finance Director and Deputy Managing Director

Adam is responsible for the financial side of Bristol Waste Company. Being an experienced Finance Director, he has the ability to provide strategic guidance, whilst still getting into the detail of the numbers. Adam is a Chartered Accountant (FCA) with over twenty years of experience in both the private and public sectors. With a broad spectrum of industry knowledge including manufacturing, waste management, leisure, education, publishing, property, agriculture and public services. Adam heads up the support functions of Bristol Waste as well as Finance. He leads the teams responsible for Performance and Reporting, Reuse, Contracts and Procurement, Communications, Human Resources, Learning and Development and IT.

Jason Eldridge Bristol Waste Operations Director

Jason Eldridge: Service Delivery Director

Jason has over 25 years waste management experience and is responsible for all operational areas within the business. Jason is a hands on operator who champions engagement and wellbeing within the workforce. He is passionate about Health and Safety, waste reduction, recycling and 360-degree solutions for the city and residents of Bristol. He is striving to ensure the majority of Bristol’s waste is processed within the local area. Jason ensures waste is processed in the most sustainable way possible while looking at technology and innovation to steer Bristol toward Zero Waste.

Richie Brislen Bristol Waste Company Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Director

Richie Brislen: SHEQ Director

Richie is responsible for Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) management and improvement for Bristol Waste Company. His team maintains and enhances the SHEQ programmes in place, as well as initiating new safety performance improvements. Richie has a Diploma in Health, Safety and Environmental Management, Post Graduate Diploma in Health and Safety Law and Environmental Law, Master of Arts Degree in Health and Safety Law and Environmental Law and NEBOSH General Certificate. Richie has over 27 years’ experience working in Health and Safety. Previously working in a senior role at Veolia, he has been involved in the development of waste industry standards.
